Tideway closes Thames Path in Wapping

Tideway have closed the Thames Path at King Edwards Memorial Park in Wapping. This is to build their control kiosk which contains the equipment that monitors and controls the sewer.

The schedule was from January 2023 to September 2024, but we have persuaded them to bring the works forward, due to a path closure following a collapsed drain at Free Trade Wharf. We intend to keep up the pressure on Tideway to complete the works without delay.

Free Trade Wharf Closure

Following a hole appearing in the path at the Free Trade Wharf section, engineers have visited and offered three solutions. The management at Free Trade Wharf are speaking to the council to decide on the best solution.
They have agreed to meet with myself and a local cyclists’ group following a notice that appeared to be hostile to cycling access. This will happen once they are clear on the way forward with the works.
